Instant Thattai Recipe (Diwali/Deepavali Snacks):
Thattai Crispy Snacks is a Delicious South Indian Recipe Served as a Snack.The Name Thattai means “Flat”. It is called so because it’s a Flattened Rice Snack.It is Both Vegan and Gluten Free. You may call them crispy rice crackers. Thattai is mostly made for Diwali and Lord Krishna Jayanthi.It Does Not Requires any Specific Moulds, thats it’s Speciality.
Very happy to share this recipe to you all. I am trying to make it very simple and easy for busy buddies. Taste is wonderful too .
1 cup. Store Bought Rice Flour
1/4 cup. Store Bought Urad Flour/Black Gram Powder/Uluntham Paruppu
1/4 cup. Store Bought Besan/Chickpeas Flour/Gram Flour/Kadalai Maavu
1/2 tsp. Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp.Asafoetida Powder
1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder (Organic Once are available) NOTE: You an also use Freshly Shredded 4-5 Garlic Pods instead.
3/4 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup and 3 tbs. Water (will need more later)
Oil for Deep Frying
1 tbs. Black Sesame Seeds
1 and 1/2 tbs. Roasted Chickpeas.
2 Strings Curry Leaves
2 and 1/2 tsp. Melted Butter
- Do not add more butter or oil which may leads to breakage of thattai while frying.
