Ada Dosa/ Adai Dosai

Ingredients:

This adai dosai is south indian recipe; no need to wait until fermentation; ready to make once grinded; try this and I like to know your comments; Thanks :-) .

1 cup Raw Split Chick Peas/ kadalai paruppu (Chana Dal)

1 cup Idli Rice

1 cup Whole White Lentils/ Ulutham Paruppu (Urad Dal)

½ cup Raw Split Yellow Lentils/ Paasi Paruppu (Moong Dal)

Salt to Taste

Dry Red Chili to taste (I used 5 in number)

1 tsp. Cumin Seeds/ Jeerakam (Optional)

For Seasoning:

I Medium Onion

½ cup Chopped Cilantro

8 Chopped Curry Leaves

1 tsp. Asafetida/ perunkayam (Hing)

In a Cooking pan; add 1 tsp. oil followed by Asafetida, curry leaves, onion and cilantro; once the onion are cooked half add it into the dosa batter (adding cooked onion into the batter is optional; you can also add raw chopped onion into the batter)

Steps:

  1. Soak the Lentils and the rice together in a large bowl of water; overnight.
  2. Grind the soaked rice & lentils mixture along with the red chili and salt.
  3. Add water little by little; in a dosa pan, start making dosa and enjoy.

Tips:

If you want thick dosa, then add less water; if you want to make crispy dosa, then add more water (always add little by little).
